Perspective

I have recently become a facebook user. I didn't think I would ever go down this road, but after Hilary began making contact with people from her distant past I thought I would give it a try. Some of my students thought it was really weird for their teacher to have a facebook page. Perspective, people. As a teenager, it is difficult to foresee 10-20 years down the road, that the people you have strong friendships with now, may not be living even in the same country as you. Having had such strong friendships, I am often curious what those people, who mean a lot to me, are doing in their lives. While my students and alumni have found my facebook and joined my friends list, that was not my primary goal in getting started. My farflung family members, long lost high school friends, with whom I have not spoken since graduation, fellow missionaries I served with in Seoul Korea; these are some of reconnections that I have found blessings in. Some of my students are not even as old as the friendships that have been reconnected. That is a different perspective. Hopefully, wisdom continues to come with age. To all my friends young and old, thank you for including me in your circle of friends and family.
